Thing of the Week: Podcasts

I am such a fan of podcasts, especially for a long work day. There are probably about 20 that I listen to on the regular. Anything from true crime to self-help and even some random educational ones, I am here for it! Here, I’m sharing some of my favorites.

Dirty John

Y’all, this podcast is only a few episodes, but it is thrilling! It’s like catfish meets true crime with brilliant storytelling. There are so many twists and turns, yet it is not hard to keep up with the story.

How I Built This

This is another one of my favorites, because it is so motivating. In this cast, Guy Raz, the host, interviews a different entrepreneur every episode. From Ben & Jerry’s to Zumba, there are so many interesting stories about how these companies came about and the barriers that were crossed in the making.

Slow Burn

If you are into history and politics, this is such a good podcast. I’m not going to lie, I am into neither of those things, but I do love a good scandal. The first season of Slow Burn is a deep dive into the Watergate Scandal. It tells all about Watergate with interviews and storytelling, which makes it so interesting.

The Dave Ramsey Show

This cast is literally just people calling Dave Ramsey and asking questions about money. It is super inspirational and has helped me transition into adulthood, financially speaking.

Uncover: Escaping NXIVM

Okay, I absolutely saved the best for last. This podcast had me SCREAMING in my car. I could not stop listening. This is the most binge-worthy podcast I have ever listened to. It is about a girl that got caught up in a Self-Help style cult and as a lover of all things self-improvement, OMG! And if you are keeping up with the news or pop-culture, it involves the arrest of Allison Mack from Smallville.
